But as for a table, I would grout it all at once once it is done to make sure the color comes out evenly. Grout colors are tricky. You can use the same bag of grout and come up with 2 slightly different shades! Also, grout doesn't really have any "sticking" capabilities, unlike glue or thinset, so if you grouted it, it might be hard to get the tiles next to it to stick. Hope that helps!Jennevievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16806731700033301784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-46667648236095462152011-04-29T22:09:17.620-07:002011-04-29T22:09:17.620-07:00Hi Jennevieve - great tutorial. I would like to know if I can grout the third I've finished before I go on with the gluing of the rest of the surface. Or is it important to do the grouting all in one?
Thanks - LynAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-14966234186299390812010-08-05T16:43:46.838-07:002010-08-05T16:43:46.838-07:00Thanks. It was very dull looking, so we used a sealant to help perk it up, but it's not what we wanted. Go to a real tile store to ask for an acidic cleaner.Jennevievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16806731700033301784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-80540870285236636732010-04-26T23:11:38.027-07:002010-04-26T23:11:38.027-07:00I supervised a large 10 ft x 5 ft mosaic project a...I supervised a large 10 ft x 5 ft mosaic project at a high school. The custodians hung the cement board right on the wall by mistake, so we had to mosaic and grout while it was already hung. The grout was not wiped off properly and the whole thing is disguised under a coat of grout. What now? Take it off the wall and scrap the project or get an electric sander and try to sand it off? I'm heartbroken!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12980105238567723794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-7447322355986532682010-02-03T22:42:19.755-08:002010-02-03T22:42:19.755-08:00You do not have to take out old grout but just be ...You do not have to take out old grout but just be wary that even if you are grouting in a touch up area in the same color as the nearby color, it will still look different for a while as the grout has water in it for a long time and the color will be deeper.Jennevievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16806731700033301784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-47258909819552500322010-02-03T11:54:45.312-08:002010-02-03T11:54:45.312-08:00So it makes sense to not use white grout. Do we have to take out the old grout and do it all at once? or can we just keep going and blend it in next to it?
Does that make sense?
I am having Give Aways for the whole month of February. Now I wish I would've stuck with it. I also have a small obsession with orange and I have to tell you that your mixer kinda excites me. I also love to cook and well, eat.

Michelangelo exhibit, we are in agreement. I liked it though for a couple of reasons. First, he makes the sistine chapel look a little more user friendly from those very basic and, dare i say, sloppy drawings. The second, I was at the Sistine Chapel last year and it is nice to be brought back to the awe and shock of the Vatican. I might also add at the end my husband noticed everyone getting louder and louder and so couldn't resist saying, "ssssshhhhhh, quiet please", just like a security guard in the Sistine Chapel would repeat over and over. It's definitely the little things in life for me and a good laugh can carry me pretty far.merrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01333029781316862022noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3205178118535934425.post-79415178124016414322010-02-01T11:48:38.224-08:002010-02-01T11:48:38.224-08:00Great tutorial Jennevieve -- lots of great tips! ...Great tutorial Jennevieve -- lots of great tips!
